What on earth do I do

Payton

Okay so I love nursing my baby. He’s a big boy, a fast grower and a comfort nurser and I’m well accustomed to his cluster feeding stages by now. I don’t work and I get my household stuff done no problem so I will literally sit with him for however long he wants.

The problem is that when he cluster feeds, he WILL NOT stay on the breast. He’ll pull away, thrash, fight and sometimes scream. But he will constantly come back, suck a little more, turn away, fight, I have to put the nipples in his mouth and he’ll suck again. This will continue until he passes out. If I try to just pull him away and comfort him another way he will cry until I put him back on the breast and then starts the cycle of suck, pull away, fight, suck. He won’t take a pacifier.

I guess I don’t have so much of a question as much as I just want to vent somewhere and see if I’m the only one? It’s emotionally taxing, we go through this every evening and lately even before bed. It’s making me want to quit breastfeeding :/
