How did you know you were ready for baby #2?

Our daughter is almost 16 months old now, and my husband and I have started talking seriously about trying for baby #2 very soon. We always knew we would want at least two kids, but it’s hard to know when the time is right! 
- I’m 32, husband is almost 35
-Financially we are totally fine. I’m a SAHM, husband is self employed and doing very well (but works long hours). 
-Daughter sleeps through the night in her own crib/room and is hitting developmental milestones at average timelines. 
- It took us ~5 months of actively trying to conceive our daughter.
- she was born via scheduled c-section because she was breech, I’d like to try for a VBAC next time if possible. 
My question is how did you decide to start trying again?? Did you just get baby fever? Lol

I’m six weeks away from having baby #2 and I’m still not sure that I’m ready 😂. My first wasn’t the perfect newborn and still has some sleeping issues but I think talking it out with my husband and listing the pros and cons helped us realize that there was never going to be a “good time” to start trying again. We both definitely wanted at least one more and it was also important to us for our son to have a sibling and to experience that relationship. We knew our family wasn’t complete yet and we were ready to complete it.

My kids are 20 months apart. We decided to possibly start trying and bam pregnant the first time.
It's definitely challenging but I think I will like them close in age.

I decided bc I was 34 with my first and it took us so long to get pregnant the first time I wanted to start trying again once my son was 1. One miscarriage and 2 years 8 months later our perfect daughter was born and our family was complete! 🥰

I felt i was more ready than I feared having a second.
I also, honestly, kinda want to get the newborn phase over and done again. The quicker, the better. I'm a totally different person after my daughter turned 2 years old 😅
We reached a stage where we wanted a second, we didn't fear it as much and we felt the age gap was appropriate. As my husband is disabled we needed our first child to be somewhat able to do things on her own. Like get in and out of a car, take shoes on and things like that.

We wanted 3ish years between and started trying for that. I have siblings 4 and 2 years apart from me and didn't like those differences so for us 3 was ideal and has been great

My decision was based on us just wanting kids a specific-ish age apart- for us that was close to 2 years. We stopped preventing when our first was 9 months and I fell pregnant when she was 1 (almost on the dot). We had our second when our first was 21 months and it worked perfectly for us.

My husband and I know we want a bunch more children, ideally 3 or 4 more. I had my daughter at 28, I’m 29 now. We aren’t “trying” but we aren’t preventing. I’m 8 months PP and I just figure when it happens, it happens and I know it’s going to be hard having multiple children regardless of the age gap so I figure the sooner the better.
