Do you split everything 50/50 ?

me and my boyfriend were planning on moving out within the next couple months. we can’t agree when it comes to finances, he makes 2x what i do a month. if we split every single bill evenly i would be left with a couple hundred while he’s still left with over $2000. he doesn’t think he should have to pay more and that it’s unfair. he doesn’t think everything should be put on him. which i agree it shouldn’t but i feel like it’s only fair that he pays a little more when i’ll be left struggling to pay bills and he’s still living comfortably.
