Who gets food first??

So i didnt know where to post this but i figured this was okay.

So apparently this is a thing so here it goes. So my husband and i were at our friends house for a small bbq. Anyways my friends husband started a conversation about dinner. He stated that since hes the man and the head of the house hold that he needs to be served dinner first and the wife and kids have to wait. He then turned to me and said Thats how your household is right?! I said no. My child is always taken care of first. Always. He said i was wrong its the man thats always taken care of first. Thats how my household should be. I told him he needed to back off. My husband then says the our child comes first. She serves family style anyways. We just help ourselves. We are adults.

It just kills me that this is an issue. The whole time hes ranting and raving about being the man and hes always served first his wife is just quiet. The husband said every house hold is like this and im the wrong one and i need to get with the times of men being number 1 and head of the household.

I never said he was wrong its just not how my home is. Its always family style and i feed my baby first no big deal he made it into this huge thing and some people agreed with him and most were just quiet.
