Heel pricks

Baby boy is 5 days old and had his first pediatrician appt today. Was told he may have jaundice and was sent to get a heel prick for blood draw. He has been so cranky today. We got a call back saying it was sorta high but nothing urgent but wants him to repeat it tomorrow. Any suggestions or tips on how to make him more comfortable? Im Obvs hormonal so I’m crying back and forth lol bc I know his little foot must be sore and he has reason to be cranky. Thanks for any tips or suggestions!!
