What should I look for in a pack ‘n’ play? Best ones?

So, my niece uses her pack ‘n’ okay anotó. She had one at nana’s, one at aunty’s, one at home even for when my sister wanted to lie her down for an afternoon nap but wanted her in the living room. When she was small it even functioned as a small playpen because my sister’s apartment was tiny. (Obviously stopped working once she could stand) it went to hotels if they traveled and all. 
I know I want one with a changing area, and one that my LO can sleep in, but what do I look for? Does it need a bassinet? (My sister just put my niece in the bottom since hers was firm) do they have storage? Carrying bags in case I travel? Thanks for the help.

This is the one I will be ordering. I like how the bassinet is removable and has extender legs to serve as a bed side one as well. The changing option is a nice bonus for the living room. It has 2 different levels underneath, for when they just lay and then take that out and it becomes the deeper version once she gets older

I had one similar to this. I actually liked the changing table attachment and used it until my daughter got too big for it, but the bassinet attachment was pretty worthless in my opinion. The whole thing came with a travel bag. Whatever one you get, I highly recommend watching a video of the set up and fold up. I took way longer than I should’ve to figure out how to fold it back up 🤦🏼‍♀️ if I were to buy it again, I would probably have just bought the basic model. 
If you ever plan on buying a second one, I highly recommend buying one that lays directly on the floor. I bought a basic model to keep at my moms house. Didn’t end up using it that much when baby was little, but I really wish I had gotten one that lays directly on the floor, because they have a much higher weight limit.

We found the changing table to be useless. It’s super small and when our son would pee (as boys tend to do), he’s get it on his bed and then we had even more to deal with. We scrapped the changing part pretty quickly and just used the floor. Much easier for us. 
We loved the bassinet insert. I’m short and had a c-section, so trying to set a newborn on the bottom level would have been really difficult. We used the bassinet insert for 6 months with both our kids.

We had one similar to this with the changer, bouncy seat and bassinet. My daughter was in a cradle for about a month and a half then used the bassinet part of the pack and play for another month or two then moved to the lower part of the pack n play until 5.5 months when we moved her to her crib in her own room. We did decide to get a mattress for the lower part and just made sure it fit snuggly in the pack n play and she couldnt slip between the mattress and sides, but some people are against using a mattress. We used the pack n play in the living room after that as a contained play area and occasionally for naps. It did come with a case to make it easier for travel but only the pack n play and bassinet would fit in it. We used the changer also when we didn’t want ti go upstairs to the changing table in her room.

We had one with a changing insert but found it to be awkward and never wanted to use it.  I’ve since thrown that part away after first baby (currently preggo with #3).  We didn’t miss it with baby 2.  We DO like the bassinet part though just to not have to lean down so far to lay the baby down (during the early months when they can’t sit up of course), so that part is very much worth it to me.  It comes with a bag, which is handy when you bring it for travel.

The changing part useless for my husband and I due to our height. That went away really fast and we just changed the baby on the changing pad on his dresser. Just the pack n play was sufficient for us. It came in a travel bag, and it has a little storage pocket on the side. We used it for a portable white noise machine.

What should I look for in a pack ‘n’ play? Best ones?
