Colostrum??? Still breastfeeding 1st. Pregnant with 2nd

Question

So I’m still breastfeeding my first child, but worried that my new unborn baby won’t have any colostrum when he is born. Is this true? A friend said you only make colostrum for so many days. I’m 34 weeks pregnant. And just worried that because I’m still breastfeeding first baby, there won’t be any colostrum left for the new baby when he’s born. Is this true????

Not true your body is designed to feed new baby. I’m also pregnant and nursing. Breast milk can change depending on the babies needs. So an older baby will need something different than a nee baby and your body will naturally adapt.

Your body will continually make more, just like it does with full breastmilk. Your friend may be thinking of that your body will only produce colostrum for a few days after birth, but that is only because of your full breastmilk coming in.
