SAHMs- do your husbands help with housework/children at all?

My husband thinks just cuz he works he doesn’t have to do anything else. I literally do everything and feeling burnt out. I’ll beg him to scrub the shower till it’s so disgusting I’ll just have to do it myself. The only thing I really ask of him is take the garbage out and it’ll sit and my dogs will get into it. I’m pregnant on bedrest and not suppose to be lifting. He’ll see overflowing laundry to be taken up or items on the stairs and won’t do crap. He’s awful at communicating so he’s been working late everyday this week, after he promised he’d help more around here once I was on bedrest. He hasn’t been home at all. All he does is work. Doesn’t spend anytime with our son. Doesn’t help with the animals. I asked him to purchase dog food, it’s heavy,  cuz we were almost out yesterday and he didn’t even do that. My dogs are staring at me starving this morning. Blah

The poll results of this are sad. While my baby may not be here yet, I stay home and my husband works. He does so much for me without even asking. Takes care of the trash, cleans out the cat box since I can’t, and even bleach scrubbed our whole bathroom the other day because he knew I wanted to but couldn’t breathe it in. Everyone deserves a man who cares and does his part, especially should be spending time with their kids. This is awful

My husband works full time. I’m a stay at home mom to 2 toddlers. He takes the trash and recycling out, he mows our one acre of grass, does lawn care like fertilizing, changes kids diapers, helps wash up the kids, puts the kids to bed every night, does car maintenance like oil changes for us, vacuums the house, helps feed the kids at dinner, helps with groceries, puts away dishes, etc. 
After the kids were born my husband helped out more while I was recovering. He’s a good family man and I appreciate him a lot.

Everyday. He’s in charge of washing night dishes, picking up the house, trashes, and even makes his own breakfast and lunch. We both pull our weight here.

I do most of it, but when I was on bedrest he did help more. Him working 40 hrs a week outside the home equals you working 40 hours a week on the house, errands and hands on child care, not he works 40 hrs and is now off duty and you work nights and weekends. And with a medical issue, yeah he needs to step up even beyond that.

my view is, i’m a stay at home mom for a reason. when we both worked we split chores equally, like let’s say for example, i would do the bathrooms and bedrooms and he would do the kitchen, living room and cars. but when i got pregnant and quit my job, i picked up the slack because i’m home 24/7, while he’s working everyday. so why would i not split the housework between days to keep myself busy? i just make a plan at the beginning of the week, okay monday i’ll do the bathroom tuesday the bedrooms wednesday the kitchen etc etc. 
that doesn’t work for everyone but it does for us, and i’m happy with it. i’m also a neat freak and really enjoy being able to stay home and simply clean up but that’s just me. he also pays all the bills, does all the grocery shopping, comes home and makes dinner and i clean up. in the end to me that’s equal as his hard work is done at work to provide for our family!

He works 40 hrs a week? 50 hrs? You work 24/7 once you have a kid. That’s insane. Especially given that you’re supposed to be in bed rest. Dude needs a reality check. Let that fucker run out of clean underwear, don’t make a single meal, ugh. Gross. Unacceptable.

Even before I got pregnant my husband worked 6 days a week and would do more than 50% of the housework a lot of times. I was always the one trying to make up for my lack of chores lol. I feel lucky because even with a 5 month old that I’m constantly taking care of and have little time to do much, he still comes home from work with a lack of sleep (baby keeps us up late and my husband wants to help put baby to sleep) and still cooks and cleans. I try my best to do anything I can when I have time but not once has he complained or intentionally made me feel bad. I just personally feel bad I can’t do more but he makes a point to tell me no pressure just to take care of our little beeb.

I stay at home with my two children. I don’t expect help from my husband. He works hard for our family. I am fully capable of cleaning, cooking, and doing the chores. 
With that being said, he helps with the trash, laundry, and will sometimes do the dishes. He also gets up with our baby every other night.

My husband is only home on weekends but he absolutely helps me with everything when he's home.
