Would you let your son wear nail polish?

My boyfriend is 21 and his family threw a big fit over him wearing nail polish, told him to remove it, even went as far as threatening to kick him out, yikes.
In my opinion they’re WAYYY OUT OF LINE. Get over yourself he’s an adult, who has a girlfriend (them being homophobic), and it’s HIS body. Do you think they were in the wrong?

They’re completely in the wrong in my opinion. Threatening to kick him out over that is extremely weird and controlling. He’s not harming anyone by simply expressing himself. Sounds like there’s something wrong with them. Idk they sound weird.

Parents have different norms in which they raise their children, as long as ur still in your parents house, it's inevitable to live by their rules. Otherwise if he's uncomfortable he could move out and get an independent space

My husband wears black nail polish sometimes. I think it's hot. Our nephew is 8 and loved having his nails painted. Nail polish doesn't belong to a certain gender and it's stupid how upset people get about men wearing it.

Ive been doing my 8 year old brothers makeup and nails for so long. Crazy thing is that gendered things are made up and people -especially kids- will just chose whatever they like when there aren’t weird stereotypes around them.
So no I wouldn’t be worried about what safe hobbies my kids are up to. Especially at a grown age like your boyfriend.

Whatever they did your boyfriend was not acceptable, you boyfriend has the right to wear what he wants. I think most of the discrimination and all comes from an early age, it's hard to let go. You can try to explain to them. ❤️
