Plan b

I took a plan b a few days before my period was expected to start. I ended up having some spotting for about 3-4 days and then got my period on the 7th day after taking the plan b. It was very heavy and had clots. My period just ended two days ago. Is it necessary to take a pregnancy test to be sure I am not pregnant?
