New CDC guidelines for speech delay

I’m trying to educate myself about this topic but I’m legitimately confused why I keep seeing things on social media about how bad this is. Am I missing something that someone could explain it to me? Not trying to argue at all! I’m just confused about it because when I first read it my first impression was this is great because the pandemic it was hard to socialize my child at a young age and where I live almost all daycares & playgroups were shut down for over a year and are just now getting back to normal. My child isn’t officially delayed but he’s like right at the mark and barely meeting the milestone and he’s almost 2. I think he has about 25 words. My thought was if your child isn’t delayed and met the previous milestone for words why does it matter? Your kid would just be that much more ahead right? I hope I don’t sound rude or combative, I really just don’t get it.
