Should I just keep waiting

I need advice. I’ve been with my boyfriend for 4 months. Both of us were single for like 7 years before we got together. The biggest difference is he didn’t sleep around at all and well I did. Now I’m here with a larger sex drive and he doesn’t seem to want to have sex. I know sex isn’t everything and he’s so good to me better than any guy I’ve been with. He says he’s just not wanting to disappoint me and he’s self conscious. But it’s really messing with my head. Especially when I try to start something and he turns me down…
