What do you do to save money?

What do you do to help you have a little bite for fun things but to stay comfortable?

We bake and do little picnic outside of go to park with kiddos or even go hiking

Not eat out a lot (make dinner at home every night - we order in or go out once a month)
No Dunkin’/Starbucks except the rare occasion (that easily wastes money)
No frivolous spending!
And treat saving like any other bill. We have our mortgage, electric, phones, grocery bill, car/car insurance and savings. We put a certain amount in each savings account per week. One savings account we do not touch - it’s our “emergency savings”. And another account for our “fun savings”

Figure out what you're expenses are (only necessary items like bills) and add a little extra for miscellaneous expenses 
Eliminate all of your debt (student loans, credit card debt & car loans) I don't count mortgage because that'll take longer 
To keep grocery budget as low as I can my husband and I focus on mainly eating, rice, beans, veggies, and make most of our food from scratch (Soups, tuna salad, sandwiches, etc). I also rarely go out to eat. 
The best advice I've heard is to live WAY BELOW YOUR MEANS. I have the ability to save and invest frequently due to not living like other people with my income. My only debt is my mortgage and when my husband lost his job a few years ago we didn't need to change our lifestyle at all because we live very simply.

You could always just put a little away each check so it doesn’t seem like too much at any one time.
We treat it like any other bill that has to be paid. There is electric, rent, water, daycare, long term savings, fun savings, car payment, etc.
