A little vent about my friend and her perfect child

One of my friends was really spoiled with her first child. He literally came out of the womb with the intention of being the “perfect” baby. He would sleep for 10+ hours straight, never cry, and literally just existed happily. As an almost 4 year old he’s still the same. He has never thrown a temper tantrum in his life. He literally sits quietly all day and plays without a peep. He never complains. He never cries unless he’s physically hurt. Never whines. Eats whatever he is given. Does exactly what he is told 24/7. It is absolutely bizarre to me. But whatever.

So she had a second child and her second child is more like an “normal” kid. She’s 2 and of course throws temper tantrums and tests boundaries. My friend, who is so used to her perfect first child, thinks every time her 2 year old does something “bad” that there’s something wrong with her. She literally texted me and said “I told Anna to pick up her toys and she told me no! Omg! I cannot handle this!” I was like “honey that is normal for her age.” And she texted me back “well Grant never tells me no! Anna is so defiant. I think she has oppositional defiance disorder or ADHD.”

It’s starting to annoy me. She will constantly complain about her NORMAL DAUGHTER and make it out to seem like she’s a horrible child. She’ll complain that she “woke up once last night” or “she is crying because we didn’t give her a piece of candy before dinner.” She won’t listen to me that is all NORMAL and she is taking her normal 2 year old to a fucking child psychologist! It’s fucking wild man!

All the while she will constantly brag on her perfect first born Grant talking about how sweet and amazing he is. Like of course he’s amazing, he doesn’t do anything except sit quietly like a mouse. I’ve never met a kid like him before in my life.
