16 weeks midwife appointment;

At this appointment I was 17 weeks pregnant, I explained to the midwife about some cramping as well as excruciating backache every few days, she said if it happens again to go hospital. I think it’s just baby stretching my body (this is my second pregnancy) however she didn’t check for the heartbeat. Should she have? Especially if she was that concerned about my cramps?

I don’t have my 20 weeks scan for another 3 weeks so I’m a bit worried as I still haven’t felt any kind of movement from baby.
