likelihood of miscarriage?

Hi :) I found out I am pregnant yesterday!!!! I’m stupid early, like 3w5d. I was wondering how likely miscarriages are??? I’m sooo worried😩😩 I’m 23, no real health issues, but crazy things happen all the time and there’s some scary statistic that like 1 in 3 pregnancies end in miscarriage ??? I would be devastated. Does anyone have any words of encouragement or any tips?😭 much appreciated

Congrats!! As one of the other commenters said, you can search something like “chance of miscarriage by week” and get the breakdown. I used it my first several weeks for peace of mind. I want to say after 6 weeks, the chances go down to less than 5%, and then continue to decrease after that. Miscarriages do unfortunately happen, but healthy pregnancies happen much much more often. If a miscarriage does happen, remember that it’s very likely not anything you did. Most of them are caused by genetic issues out of your control. Take your prenatal vitamins, stay hydrated, and just do your best to enjoy the excitement. ❤️ I know it was hard for me to be excited the first several weeks because of worry (plus my biggest symptom was cramping so i constantly felt like my period was coming 😫), but I just had to remind myself over and over that baby is safest in my womb, that taking care of my body is the best thing I can do for him/her, and that anything else that happens is beyond my control. Baby is safe and healthy until doctor tells me otherwise.

Congratulations! I know there is a website if you Google something like miscarriage rates by day, and it’ll show you the percent chances by day of your pregnancy. I used it all the time with my first and it made me feel better. I can’t Google now to find out the exact website for you though because I really don’t want to know what percentage I’m at at the moment 😂 But it should be super easy to find!

So the statistic is 1 in 4 end in miscarriage, and it’s honestly fairly accurate (if not underrated because many woman don’t realize they’re pregnant that early and just attribute to a late period). That being said, try to relax as much as possible and enjoy what you can. Keep in mind the vast majority of pregnancies do just fine.
