What would you do?

So my husband is the Third of his family name and his entire family is expecting me to name my son after that name. Unfortunately my father in law is a real 🍆 and hates my guts. With a little bit of back story, my husband and I have been together for 8 years now and he still tried to get us to divorce. He legitimately is so mean to me and my husband for our views about parenting or lifestyle and rarely ever talks to my husband. SO why would I want to name my son after him? I know it’s also my husbands name but my husband goes by a nickname so he doesn’t have the same name as his father.

Also my husband does not want to name our child after the family name either but his dad and sister and some other family members are acting like it’s all my decision and I’m the evil one. They don’t like me which is fine, I’ll continue to be respectful and myself but they keep referring to my baby as little “family name” and it’s bothering me. I’m not accepted by his family except for his mom thank God and it’s feeling more and more difficult these days. Maybe I’m just more emotional. So what would you do? Would you name your son after the family name and honor your husband and bite the bullet and pressure from a family who hates you? Or pick your own unique name?
