Multiple ingrown hair public bumps…

I typically don’t even ask of answers for this due to the fact it’s embarrassing to me but does anyone else get multiple ingrown hair bumps ( not painful or bothering ) but just makes you insecure because they are there? I can’t even shave anymore for my boyfriend due to the fact I let my “ bush “ hide all the ingrown hair bumps. I never waxed and scared to start since my skin is so sensitive to a lot. Any suggestions? I tried exfoliating and moisturizing but they seemed to become more visible… just so embarrassed.
