Red/puffy eyes

My toddler’s eyes have been red and at times puffy for the past week. Not his eyeballs, but around his eyes. He’s been rubbing them a lot as if they are itchy. I sent a message to his doc and she said it could be the start of a viral cold (he’s been sneezing a little bit too but not much). Just wondering if anyone has experienced this with their little one and what I can do to help him. I’ve been wiping his eyes with a warm cloth from time to time and making sure to keep his hands clean since he’s rubbing them on his eyes. Any advice/insight welcomed!
