Long distance advice?

My bf got waitlisted from the local University but was excepted into UC Davis. He’s planning on going there if he is still waitlisted or he gets accepted into another challenging school. But this means I only have 8 more months of being with him short distance.

I’m a Junior in high school (he’s a senior) and I myself don’t plan to go to a liberal arts college. I plan to do conservatory for music but there isn’t many challenging schools for myself in north Cali/south Oregon. I’m very upset because he is not sure if long distance would work or not.

I’m not gonna be that toxic gf that sacrifices her education for the relationship and I definitely don’t want him to sacrifice his. (It’s a UC school for crying out loud!) I overall need some advice leading up to his departure and what to expect long distance
