Toddler not talking much
Edited to update here that he is 2 years old! I didn't include his age, oops lol
Can I be raw for a second and post something without someone mom-shaming me? I am in search of suggestions on what you may have done to help your toddler start talking more? My son is in speech therapy but only goes once every other week, so I'd like to do more at home.
I read to him when he let's me, (a lot of the time he's just trying to turn the page immediately or starts pushing the book away) I talk to him when we do anything together, (which I'm home with him for now so we do pretty much everything together lol) and I try to narrate as best as I can to him on level a 2 year old could understand better. He does have TV a lot but 9 times out of 10 it's background noise that he will occasionally look at/watch for a bit, he plays with other kids regularly, and still uses the dang binky 😑 He can say some things and his understanding/receptive language is great (no one is worried about that part, he is smart) he just isn't always getting real words out. He also knows some simple sign language so he can communicate with me even the slightest bit.
What are your tips to encourage talking and even losing that binky? 😂 I keep hearing "just talk to him" but I do!!! Everyone does!
