Daughter won’t go pee in public potty

My lo is 2 1/2 and is daytime potty trained. However, every time we go out shopping or wherever she won’t go in a public potty. She screams and cries saying that she doesn’t want to. I think she might be scared. I bring a potty with us and she will go in the potty I bring in the back of the car. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get her to use the public potty’s?
