When should I start walking?

I’m currently 32 weeks and 2days but at my ob appointment yesterday the dr told me my baby girl is measuring in the 85% and about 3weeks ahead at 5lbs 2oz .. and said he would like to schedule a c section due to her size but wouldn’t be mad if she came on her own earlier than that if I didn’t want a c section.. But never said how early, clearly I want her healthy and to term but with her measuring ahead I don’t know when I should try and get her to come on her own instead of a c section that I definitely didn’t want unless absolutely needed.

Don’t agree to a csection simply because of baby’s size. Those growth estimates are guesses and are notoriously inaccurate. Don’t put your body through an unnecessary and risky surgery when there’s no reason you can’t deliver vaginally, even if baby is bigger.

You won’t be able to put yourself into labor. Baby will come when baby is ready. Measuring big is almost never a reason on its own for a c-section. Those estimates are notoriously inaccurate. And even if they weren’t, women birth big babies all the time. It’s really very rare for a body to create a baby that it can’t birth vaginally.

you should’ve started taking walks when you found out u were pregnant but just start now. when i was 36 weeks i started pumping and drinking red raspberry leaf tea to prep my body.

Baby will come when ready. I tried everything, mine was measuring 4 weeks ahead since 32 weeks. I started pumping at 37 weeks, walking, sex, the weird tea, medicine ball, massages, chiropractic adjustments. She came at 40+5, vaginally with no tears.
Even though baby is measuring large, it doesn’t mean that everything else is developed enough for them to be ready to be born now.  It’s also concerning that C-section was already brought up (unless you already had one in the past). I could see being willing to induce at 39 weeks. One of my doctors was willing to do that, one was not.
Also their measuring can be off by a pound or more, it’s not very accurate. My friend had a C-section because they said baby was too big and baby was a pound and a half smaller than they estimated.

The estimates they do for baby's size are known to be way off. My doctor's never let me know how big baby was because they said it wasn't reliable or accurate. I would say don't agree to the c section and wait for baby to come on their own. If baby does happen to be too big during labor then you could then get a c section but it's not necessary to schedule ahead of time and stress yourself out. Also it's way to early for you to be trying to do things to induce labor. I'd wait until at least 37 weeks. Keep doing your normal walks and exercises.

I just want to clarify I do walk every day and do small exercises , what I meant was curb walking to help get her into position or possibly help out with trying to induce labor on my own to avoid c section if possible. I know there is not really any for sure way to induce my own labor and it is all just old traditions for it but my question is more so when would be an appropriate time in my pregnancy to start it.

the way OBS measure isn’t accurate. It is more accurate to guess your babies size than have them measure lol. Not sure why your OB would push for a C-section they know this ….  Try “the miles circuit” that should help get baby in a good position. You’ve got this mama 💚

Sorry you got attacked about walking,  I understood what you meant. I wish there were a way to get labor started lol both my kiddos went to 41+1 on their own!
Just hear to share my personal story: I have had two big babies. My first 9lb 11 oz and my second was 10 lbs and 22 inches long, I had both of them naturally (my biggest was a homebirth!!) 
I never ended up doing any extra worrying with my second about her size, we knew she would be big! My son was measuring the exact same size that he ended up being at birth three weeks before he was born. So chiming in to agree that the growth scans are all estimates for sure. If you don’t want to have a c section, don’t let them bully you into it! You’re right to exercise and keep active and baby will do what they gotta do. “Spinning babies” helps with positioning and visiting the chiropractor to make sure you are all aligned helps too! If you really want a vaginal birth and maintain a low risk pregnancy, I’m not a doctor but I would think a c section doesn’t HAVE to be performed. Best of luck to you!!
