Husband doesn’t want to go to cousins wedding

My first cousin is getting married in another state which is 4.5 hours away. He doesn’t want to go because he isn’t comfortable around my relatives that he’s already met but I truly feel obligated to go. He never met the future bride though and said she isn’t important to him but she is important to me because she’s my first cousin. We are not close at all but we follow each other on social media and we are obviously blood related. She’s been generous when my son was born in sending money and gifts. My husband doesn’t care how generous she was because he said she or they should’ve all came to see the baby when he was born like I’ve done for all my relatives when a big event happens I run to them to celebrate everyone’s event/occasion. My parents and I moved to this state back in 2005 and not once did they visit. It’s not my husbands issue but it seems to bother him that they are that way. If I go to the wedding alone or no show at all I’m going to look like a fool because it’s a big important day and I’m having anxiety about not going or going alone.
