High platet count on blood work

I know no one can probably answer this for me, but I am desperate for advice and having a little anxiety so anyone who is familiar with this, please tell me your experience

I had a physical last week and my platelets were high- 400. I keep reading that I could have leukemia, and I’m high risk for blood clots. My doctor told me it was ok, and still within normal range. But it is the higher end of normal.

I spoke to him Thursday, then messaged him again Friday, just asking if I could be prescribed a medication to lower them. He was kind of dismissive and basically told me to go another doctor.

I made an apt with a hematologist; but I can’t get in for another 3 weeks. I’m gonna try to find another one who can see me sooner.

Has anyone had high platelets? Is there a way to lower them naturally? I’m worried the next doctor will not prescribed anything.

I included his response to my message. I really like my doctor, but doesn’t his response seem weird? I don’t really know why he would refer me to a different doctor when he could just prescribe something to me to lower them ☹️
