Newborn wont sleep at night ( tips please )
I have a 2 week old and he does not like to sleep at night, especially on his back 😠people are telling me its because he could have his days/nights mixed up but i have my apartment bright in the daytime. I let sun shine in, i make plenty of noise during the day and he sleeps through everything in his basinet just fine. He deff prefers tummy sleeping and i’m wide awake to watch him like a hawk so i don’t bother him and let him sleep. At night, all lights are off besides the light in my kitchen so i can see during the night when i feed/pump. I have a white noise machine on. I swaddle him because if i dont his jerky movements startle him and wakes him up. And still through all of that after a good feeding and diaper change he’ll still be wide awake and start fussing and i’ll have no idea what about after I’ve exhausted all of my options and i just want to be able to sleep throughout the night too. I cant sleep when baby sleeps during the day because i have a 2 year old who needs my attention then, she sleeps through the night just fine (thank goodness) the only time he is sound asleep at night is after i finally get him to settle down and he doses off on my chest and i know thats not a safe sleep option at all but its the only thing that gets me peace long enough to get some sleep in as well. Thankfully im not one to move too much in my sleep when i have him and i wake up every time with him in the same position but i dont want to be unlucky one day. I cant just let him cry because these walls are stupid thin and i dont want to be a bother to my neighbors as im sure they dont want to be disturbed by a screaming infant in the middle of the night. I try co sleeping and give him a nice clear space of my bed and since i lay him on his back, it doesnt work either. Idk what else to try 😩
