Labor started intense all night and then stopped completely???

Last night things got really intense. I was soooo sure this was it. 😭
It slowed down to about 10-15 minutes apart 30 seconds long  early this morning now it’s completely stopped? Can active labor stop and start back up again? I’m feeling pretty discouraged because I had to work through a lot of fear last night during the waves of intense pain. Lots of doubt coming up and feeling unable to tolerate the pain.. feels like all that pain didn’t accomplish much. I haven’t dilated further than 1cm in a week.

Sounds like prodromal labor, I had it with both babies for weeks before delivery. How far along are you? Sometimes prodromal labor can be caused by baby being in a less than optimal position and sometimes it truly is short phases of active labor that start and stop. Every contraction serves a purpose. Next time it happens, try doing the Three Sisters of Balance from spinning babies followed by relaxing in an Epsom salt bath to help reset baby's position. Going for a walk also always helped calm down the contractions for me and made them go away.

I had this lastnight at 37+5 for about 5 hours i suffered and then woke up this morning and it was gone i was disgusted thinking i went through all that and its nothing...havent been right since
