How did you announce your pregnancy?
Did you give any hints?
How did you tell your parents or family?
How did you tell your partner?
This is my second pregnancy and with my first, I didn’t get to tell my mom. I was living with her at the time, didn’t even tell her I was testing, didn’t say anything, and as soon as I walked out of the bathroom, she looked at me, started jumping up and down, then ran to the back of her house where my stepdad was, screaming “I’m gonna be a grandma!” over and over. This time, I live in my own, so I’m trying to think of a clever way to do it.
When I told my dad, I made him a shirt with a catfish on it, and it said “you are o’fish- ally going to be a papaw!” I was able to get him on video lol.
When I told my partner at the time, I got him a gift bag with a father instruction manual, and a big Easter egg with the test inside.
When I told my friend, I had a mom to be sign in the window of my car.
The hints I gave on social media were a zoomed in picture of a tiny flower I was holding near my belly, and then with the first ultrasound, I edited a picture I took of the sky at the park, and photoshopped the baby into blending in with the cloud, so he also looked like a cloud. Then captioned it with Romans 8:18.
Then when I actually announced it, I took pictures of my late dog with a book that said- How to Tell Your Furkid You’re Pregnant. And I put glasses on her. And also some pictures of me pointing to a bump ahead road sign lol.
This time I want to do something creative. So far all I’ve come up with is bringing my son to my mom and dads wearing a big brother shirt, and then for the announcement having my son wear a shirt saying finally got that promotion. Or dress him up as a superhero with a sign that says every superhero needs a sidekick. Or co-pilot coming soon with the pilot hat.
My baby is due on Christmas 🎄 considered saying it’s Christmas in May, but idk, I feel that would be obvious and not a very subtle hint lol.
