6 month old not gaining - am I crazy!?
So my first child had huge issues with weight gain and was in bottom 3% and also had some failure to thrive issues.. she is almost 3 and she is still struggling to gain weight and grow. I then had a chunky baby boy who was born huge.. he was almost 90th percentile at one month and I absolutely was in heaven with his cute chubby rolls. Since then he's started dropping down on his curve and has fallen to about 65th percent and has been following that curve for about two months growing normally. He's 6 months old now and we ended up sleep training him a few weeks ago, he now sleeps through the night 7pm to 7am with one dream feed at 10pm. I just weighed him yesterday and he hasn't gained any weight in three weeks and has dropped to 55%.. I'm feeling very anxious about this and I feel like I should wake him for more feeds in the night to help him get back on track. I exclusively pump and he drinks only breastmilk. He will usually drink 4oz every 2 to 3 hours during the day and takes an average 25 - 27oz in 24hrs which I thought would be enough but then wouldn't he be gaining weight!? I know I'm a bit obsessed with weight and curves and all that which I blame on my experience with my first born 😔 but it just scares the crap out of me seeing him not gaining weight. I told my mother about all this and she basically called me crazy and said to not worry about it since he looks fine. Am I crazy!? Should I just not care that he's dropped so much on his curve? Or that he hasn't gained in 3 weeks? And his pediatrician is not concerned and never worries about anything, she just checks that he hasn't lost weight in a few months and shrugs it off.
