Frustrated

Been on Progesterone since 4dpo. Had a level of 23.7 at 9dpo. Started spotting the next day, and have done so every day since then. I was told to keep taking it and test today and if negative stop taking it, if positive keep taking it. I was away for the night and did not have a test to take. Will an afternoon test after a 3.5/4 hour hold be accurate? Has been two weeks today since I ovulated. I was told the progesterone would stop the spotting, and it did last cycle, but this one has been the worst. It is like my body is fighting to start my period but the progesterone is fighting to stop it, so yay 5 days of brown spotting when I wipe. I am going to email my doctor tomorrow and see what he wants me to do.
