Importance of iscussing and agreeing on parenting style before TTC

This topic is on my mind while watching super-nanny and noticing a common factor between the families are disagreements between the parents on parenting style. Personally I feel like it should be the first conversation when considering TTC and before getting married if you plan on having children. Im curious on other people’s takes on this. If you did discuss parenting with your partner did you find books and other sources to educate yourselves and be on the same page? If you didn’t discuss it, did it affect your relationship after baby got here? Were you able to find common ground?
