I’m currently 39 weeks and 1 day. I had a cervical check done yesterday and I was 2 to 3 cm dilated and 50% effaced but since my appointment I’ve been dropping pieces of my mucus plug and today it is now tinged with blood. Is this a sign labor near?

It can be. Mucus plug coming out means you’re dilated enough for the mucus to “fall out” of the cervix.—which you already knew. It’s an indicator that things are happening, but not an indicator of timeline. Can be hours, days, or weeks. Hopefully at 39 weeks you only have to wait a few days at most!
I’m 37 weeks and listing mine, but I think I’ve got a while to go.
