Omg I feel terrible ugh- ruined the surprise

So my boyfriend recently asked my parents permission to propose to me. I didn’t know that he did that until now.

But recently me being annoying, I’ve felt that he was pulling back as we have been living together for quite a few months and I just didn’t know where his head was at. Meaning, I didn’t know if he was feeling pressured, or just waiting to ask or what. (He already has the ring and it is delivered).

Yesterday I had a convo about it with him and he said he didn’t ask my parents yet and still needs to (he lied as a cover up and really DID ask my parents)

So to make me feel better because he knew I was getting upset he told me tonight he asked my parents. I first I didn’t believe him but now I know he really did ask and I feel SO bad because he wanted to surprise me when he asked me to marry him. I mean I will still be surprised I just now know he asked my parents.

Did any of y’all know that you were getting proposed to??

Also is there anything I can make more special about this because he is pretty bummed that I now know he asked my parents for permission and feel so bad!
