Question

I couldn’t edit my last post—I will be flying with my almost 2 month old end of the month. Her car seat is being CHECKED. Has anybody found a good and sturdy cover to use when flying and checking their car seat?? I really don’t want a damaged car seat…

I’ve flown a few times and had to check the car seat . Every time we could bring it to the opening of the plane while boarding and it was always there undamaged when we got off . Never had a cover for it .

Do you still have the box it came in? That's ny far the neat and easiest way to prevent damage. Just tape up the box and send it on its way.

The only way to really be sure it will be safe is to repack it in the original packing materials.

Have you checked Safeintheseat on Instagram? If anyone would have tips it's her. 
But it can also be a good idea to actually bring the seat on board, so baby sits safely. Holding a baby for hours can be quite tiering.

Fly with the car seat on the plane much safer and less risk of it getting damaged

We checked 4 seats on an international flight and they came out with zero damage. But if youre worried, I would just wrap it in a towel or old blanket and tape it with packing tape.

We just used one of the generic car seat bags off Amazon. We’ve checked a car seat a few times and they’ve never been damaged. We’ve also been able to bring the car seat on the flight a couple times (we didn’t buy an extra seat, the flight just wasn’t full so they let us) and that was much better than holding our son the whole time! With most flights now being full, you’d probably have to buy the extra seat to bring on the car seat.
