Scared to move back to the US; my heart goes out to Uvalde victims

Hey ladies,

Haven't seen a post here on the school shooting down in Uvalde, but I just want to say how absolutely heartbroken and shattered I feel for those families and poor, innocent victims. Imagine sending your baby to school and they don't come home that night 😫😓

With all of this hate and unpredictability in the US, it gives me anxiety to think about potentially moving back in the future. I'm American but live overseas in Dubai. I happen to live in one of the safest countries in the world and the thought of moving back to violence scares me! I've been out of the US for 8 years and a lot has changed. I have two beautiful babies and I couldn't imagine sending them to school with that kind of risk! Or them feeling afraid to go to school because of some crazy shooter!

How does everyone feel about it? And how can this problem be fixed?! Are my anxieties justified?
