Were we wrong?
Last week my family and I were sick with Covid. Luckily we all had it very mildly! Cold/flu symptoms for a few days. We stayed at home and got better. Today for Memorial Day we decided to go to a park and have a picnic. It was our first day out since before we got sick. We got Chick Fil A and ate by ourselves on a park bench and then did a walk by ourselves on this little nature trail. I posted pics on Facebook and almost immediately my friend texted me and was like “don’t y’all have Covid?” I responded “no, we’re better! No more symptoms, we isolated the recommended five days”. She was like “you could still be contagious up to fourteen days, that was kinda fucked up you went to the park and exposed everyone.” I responded “um we didn’t talk to anyone or encounter anyone…” and she left me on read and didn’t respond. Like… Um, we are no longer symptomatic…? Plus we are going back to work tomorrow anyway. Were we in the wrong for going outside…? My friend has been super Covid conscious this entire time, she will wear two masks going anywhere and has basically been locked down since 2020. It’s not the first time she has griped at me about things, a few weeks ago she complained that we went to the zoo because it’s “risky”. We were literally 100% by ourselves at this park, probably 30+ feet away from anyone else.
