Friend extremely self absorbed

What do you do about a friend who constantly talks about themselves? My supposed best friend never asks about my life or about me at all. I’m recovering from Covid right now and I sent her a text this morning about how I’m feeling and she left me on read but then an hour later started texting me about rearranging the furniture in her room. It’s like that with everything. If I mention anything about my kids she’ll be like “that’s cool” and then start talking about herself or her own problems. I was really upset a few days ago because my mother in law was being awful to me and I texted her about it and she just responded “that sucks” and then started talking about wanting to take a water coloring class. It just seems so self absorbed like she has no empathy for anyone and just thinks about herself. Meanwhile I am always there to listen to her when she is having an issue.
