Is there really such think as emotionally cheating? And if so would you stand for that ?

Emotional cheating is definitely a thing but different people define what is and isn't appropriate in their own relationships. In my relationship it is not ok. However, if myself or my husband had been engaging in those behaviors we would have counselling to figure out why we were doing that and how to fix it before we decided to break up over it.

Emotional cheating to me is when you are flirting with someone else.  Ex:” Wow, you look so sexy in that picture”..” I would love to cuddle with you right now” or sexual text messages.
I don’t find my partner talking to other girls as cheating, to me they are allowed to have friends of the opposite add because I don’t own him. I also have friends that are men and I won’t cut my friendships off for a man.
If I guy cheated on me emotionally than I break it off, no arguing. Cheating of any kind to me isn’t something that can work out. You can always try but that trust is gone and the relationship will eventually burn down. Might as well  cut it off straight away instead of wasting time

Not in our relationship. IMO, calling these “emotional cheating” is just another way to control your partner’s life. Cheating is sexual. Having a purely emotional relationship with someone (like with friends, family, etc) is not cheating. That being said, every single relationship has different boundaries. Boundaries should be agreed upon at the beginning of every committed relationship. If everyone involved agrees something emotional is cheating, then it is. This is why it’s important to have these conversations

Yes there is emotional cheating and I don’t think it’s necessarily just flirting, it’s when you get excited to see a person of the opposite sex who isn’t you gf/ bf. It’s when you can’t wait to talk to them, when you can chat to them for hours on end, when they are the first person you want to call, etc etc. I feel like if you love your partner they should be the one you are excited about seeing/ chatting to, who you want to spend most of your day with… if that makes sense. But I’m sure there are circumstances where this might not be emotional cheating. It just depends I guess.
