Must Haves Vs. Don’t Buy

Hi mommies. New mom here. Due in October 2022. 🤍
I was just wondering what are must haves in my shopping list & registry. 
And what are “don’t buy” recommendations from those moms that have more than one child and never used something with the second child. 
I’ve built my list based on recommendations but now I have things that are repeated and I don’t have the know how to figure out which to keep or not.

Don’t get the dock a tot. Unsafe and expensive we didn’t use ours. The owlet just made me more anxious and it sent false alerts I wouldn’t spent the money. I standard baby monitor with a camera is fine.

The pack n play also functions as a bassinet, so thats all you really need unless perhaps you have 2 floors. And your stroller has a flat basket, so thats your portable bassinet for on the go right there.

For the must haves, definitely the Hakka, cool mist humidifier, postpartum pads, & moby wrap.
For the do not recommend, the owlet (AAP recommends against using) , oil diffuser (can’t diffuse oils around babies) , dr browns bottles (always leaked),  & the wipe warmer.

Things I recommend to everyone: digital bath thermometer, warmies mini stuffed animal (because it doesn't get too hot and is perfect for baby tummyaches), haakaa (if planning to breastfeed), a wrap/infant carrier. A medicine box with tylenol, gas drops, gripe water, orajel/teething tablets, saline spray, and baby vicks (because most people don't think about that stuff and last thing you want is to be trying to find a 24hr store open in the middle of the night when you suddenly desperately need something)
Things I personally feel are pointless: bottle warmer (use a coffee mug/glass pyrex measuring cup with warm water), bottle sterilizer (I just boil in a large pot to sterilize), diaper cream spatula, boppy (I found it too bulky and would revert back to a regular bed pillow)

You’ve got some great things on your registry. I’m a mom of 1, expecting #2 in November and my babies will be nearly 6.5 years apart so I know things I’ll use again and what I don’t plan to use again. 
Something inexpensive but I didn’t really use with my first was the changing pad liners. We used a changing pad and purchased Wipeable changing pad covers, just 2 so if one got dirty we’d wash and have one clean. 
I’d narrow down your car seat selection. I’m personally not using the Doona. I know lots of moms like it however it’s expensive and limits you to the stroller attached to it. I used a Graco click connect with a jogging stoller. Once my son was strong enough I sat him in the stoller vs keeping him in the infant seat so he could see out. It was more practical for me. Although my infant seat expired, my stroller didn’t so I can reuse for this baby. 
I know someone said no essential oil diffusing around baby and that’s totally fine but personally o I used oils around my first and plan to with a second child. It’s all a personal choice. If you’re using high quality (not cheap store brand) I believe you’ll be fine. But with all things with a baby it’s trial and error.
