Did you deliver by 38w6d?

Question

Long story short my OB is going on vacation and I will 39 weeks the day he leaves. They won’t induce me unless medically necessary. I’m really not wanting to deliver with the other doctor (not a fan) and I’m hoping I naturally go into labor by 38w6d so I can deliver with my OB. Did any first time moms just naturally deliver before then?

No, I had my first at 42 weeks. And most women I know have gone over their due dates with first baby.

My first came naturally at 39 and 4 days, my second came when my water broke at 36 and 4 days!! It could be possible but every one is different. I’m not saying it’s guaranteed or anything works but my first I didn’t do anything to help just let it come naturally my second I would go to our city track and walk 2 miles a day, bounce on a excersise ball, lots of sex (how my water broke lol) and nipple stimulation, just anything I could find to help go into labor quicker! (She was also measuring ahead so my doctor gave me the okay)

My first came at 38+4 & my 2nd came at 39+3.  It can really go either way.

I was in labor with all of mine by that time. But my first labor was 68 hours and I didn't actually deliver until 39+0. But I went into labor at 38+4, 38+5, and 38+4 with my three.

My water broke 38w5d and I delivered the next day. They had to induce me 5 hours after my water broke though because I wasn’t progressing.

Yes I delivered at 38 weeks. But obviously that might not be the case for everyone. Your body has to be ready.
