Anyone ever felt like this??

Possible TW: pregnancy, pregnancy complications, termination of pregnancy

I may get some hate for this, but I’m just wondering if anyone has felt the same or if I’m in the wrong here.

I have 2 kids with my husband, we’re very happy and love our kids but recently have had the conversation about if our family is finished and how we know. He has said that he’s sure he doesn’t want anymore, and I am in full agreement. We use protection and he has a vasectomy scheduled so it’s not like we aren’t being cautious, but I think we both have a bit of anxiety if another pregnancy were to happen accidentally. I have said that I would probably terminate a pregnancy if it were to happen, and I had a friend tell me that I’m an absolutely horrible person for saying this.

A little bit on why that would be my decision… both my pregnancies had possibly life threatening complications that would most likely increase in severity and are very likely to happen again with any consecutive pregnancies. I am not willing to put my partner through the possibility of me being hospitalized for weeks or months for a pregnancy, and I couldn’t leave my already living children without their mum for that long. I also could never put my children or husband through the possibility of me not making it through at all. We are also financially okay with 2 kids and would not be with 3.

I know it would break my heart to have to end a pregnancy, god forbid, but I could live with it if it didn’t put my life in danger and wouldn’t change my families lives forever.

This friend says that I’m a horrible person and incredibly selfish, apparently because married people are meant to just be happy with whatever kids happen in that marriage and because she thinks I’m saying that I don’t have enough love or space for any other children.
