How do you make up with your SO?

My husband and I are not talking to each other but I miss him so Damn much! I don’t want to say sorry because he is in the wrong! But at the same time I want him to talk to me. Ideas of how I could get him to come out of the malice that he is keeping with me?

Be an adult and talk. Talking doesn't mean you're wrong. Be strong. Talk it out. There are 2 sides to the story and everyone has an opinion. We were all brought up differently. One way you learned may mot be the same way he learned. No idea what the situation is but of course that's the advice I have to give.

My partner is a lawyer, and that’s what I love most about him is that he’s an amazing communicator, he notices and pays attention to everything, he knows me better than I know myself. If any issues, they are immediately resolved. We rarely fight or argue. We were best friends 20 years before we actually got together two years ago. And communication is the best way to resolve any issue. Not holding grudges, silent treatment, slamming doors, leaving, Guilt or manipulation or any other Petty behavior. Nothing gets resolved, feelings are hurt, name-calling anything that’s not healthy. When you speak, remember that it’s not you versus him, it’s not who Hass to be right, who Hass to get their way, because nobody went that way. It’s you and him on the same team against the problem. Instead of saying you always or you never for coming off accusatory, instead say I feel we, because it is the two of you on the same team. I feel we need to spend more time together, I feel we need to have date night more often, I feel we need to communicate better, I feel we need to talk about the issue that we are having, I feel blank when this happens, and it is very important that when you communicate, that you actually listen. You don’t listen to respond or defend or overreact or overthink, you listen to hear where they are coming from so that you can understand where they are coming from. And to encourage them to speak more to you, you say things like OK, that must’ve been hard, how did that make you feel, tell me more about it, rather than yelling and screaming. You need to learn to communicate differently, and whether you write letters to each other, journaling, screaming into a pillow, whatever it may be that you need to do, deep breathing, or just going in separate rooms and calming down for a minute before you flip out and overreact, to calm down a little and then coming back and talking calmly. I hope things get better.

We never necessarily stop talking to each other… (because that’s childish AF) but sometimes after a stupid argument if it seems like he’s still stewing I’ll just be like “Okay, I’m over it. Are you still mad? because I’m done being mad now.” And that usually moves us past it so we can carry on with our lives without anyone having to admit they are wrong 😅

It depends on what happened between you two. If you both think you’re right in this case, be the bigger person and approach him… ask to talk about it, give your perspective, ask for his side of how he feels. Communicate! You’re married!!!!

Tell him you want to talk it out. Most things aren't 100% only 1 persons fault so talknitnoit and move forward. The silent treatment is obviously not getting you anywhere so just be adults and communicate. Go into it with a positive attitude amd avoid flat out saying I wanna talk but I want you to know I wasn't wrong. Take a walk or something and talk calmly. If it doesn't get fully resolved in 1 talk pause when it becomes clear there needs ro be a break and talk.abiut more a different day. But if you can't communicate after a blow up then there are some big issues outside whatever issue there was. Good luck and just talk with an open mind and make sure you do admit Amy of your faults if they come up and make sure you really listen to your partner. There are 3 sides to every issue so make sure you aren't just dead set on seeing only 1.

Whenever I’m in the wrong I’ll give my husband a few hours of space then apologize and admit my faults. He always forgives me and we move on. When he’s wrong he pretty much does the same. We luckily don’t argue for long. Just tell your husband how you feel and that he hurt your feelings. I’m sorry.
