Our son takes Claritin. Benadryl is an anti histamine but not something they should be taking daily. My son is now 4.5 but he’s taken it since he was 3. We only give him Benadryl when he has a bad cold and needs dried up a little (pediatrician suggested). Claritin is non-drowsy and clear. Our pediatrician told us to give it to him daily before bed so it’s built up in his system. You should probably call the nurse line and confirm.

It’s each different for each kiddo- all can cause behaviors. for our daughter Zyrtec and Benadryl were horrible, Allegra was amazing with no effects!
