Weaning early help!
I have to wean my 10 month old by the 28th! ðŸ˜
I’m having a cerclage placed for my current pregnancy and breastfeeding just doesn’t go hand in hand when you have a history of preterm labor. So I do HAVE to wean. I was hoping I could wait to wean until she was 1 but we moved up the surgery and I’m being advised to stop one it’s placed.
She currently feeds every 2-3 hours and 2 times at night.
She does NOT take breast milk not from the boob.
I did give her .5oz of whole milk the other day just to see if she’ll drink it. She loved it. It didn’t seem to bother her tummy.
I know that whole milk can be introduced as early as 10 months with this formula shortage. I just don’t know if it’s better to do whole milk or do the toddler formula (I think there’s some on the shelves here).
She is on 3 meals a day and eats solids very well.
So, any tips or tricks to wean in a week and a half without getting mastitis?
Do I do whole milk or toddler formula? This wouldn’t even be a question if it weren’t for the shortage.
If I switch to whole milk, does she still get 24-32oz until age 1?? I know after age 1 to limit it to 16oz a day or cover it with yogurt and cheese.
