Is punctuation important??

So, I came across this random comment while scrolling fb. It made me wonder bc I’ve also noticed a lot of posts on here that use little to no punctuation…is this something people actually think. Imo, punctuation is important. It helps the reader clearly understand the message, amongst many other things. It can definitely make or break a thought. This comment was wacky to me. Maybe I’m just out of touch. 🥴🥴

Yes, punctuation is important. Aside from it taking more time and effort to parse a paragraph with no punctuation, leaving punctuation out or putting it in the wrong place can totally change the meaning of a sentence.

Yes, it’s important. I won’t even read a post that doesn’t have punctuation. A text message without punctuation hurts my brain and I need to read it seven times before I figure out what it means.￼Using decent grammar is also important. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but at least understandable. I just misunderstood someone earlier today because she used both poor grammar and poor punctuation. Don’t get me wrong, I know that typos exist and usually I can figure out what’s being said. Typos are not what I’m talking about.
