UTIs?

How common are UTIs for women? I hear people talking about them All The Time. But I'm 30 and have never had one. My mother and sister never had one growing up either. I never even heard of them until my first pregnancy. I have 4 girls 6 and under and they've never had one either but I want to know how on the lookout I need to be.

Depending on your body, might be common.
But it is usually diet, hygiene, sex life, overall behaviour, etc. Some are unfortunately so unlucky that they can do everything right and still get it.
I personally have never got it. 🤷‍♀️
But what you read here is people asking about problems they have. People usually don't come on internet to say they have it all right, so you still mostly read about problems on forums and that might make you think, that it is really a lot of people problem. No, it is not really common, but out of usual infections, that one is a common one.

Some people are more prone to them than others. I have had probably 6 in my life and I'm 25. I can normally stop them before they get bad and not need antibiotics. Still I have needed antibiotics multiple times to clear up the uti.

I got my first one as a teenager. I have had maybe half a dozen in my life (I’m 32). The habit of peeing immediately after sex definitely keeps them to a minimum for me.
