Birth control and late period
Hi there!
I thought I'd ask for some quick advice - in care I'm worried over nothing - before reaching out to my doctor.
So, I quit taking birth control end of January, I was on the combined pill. I had withdrawal bleeding each month while on the pill. After I stopped, I still got my period. It might be 1-2 days off than expected but still timely. Anyways, this month, it just didnt come. I'm currently 2 weeks late, and I'm still waiting for it to come around. I feel like it's about to come because I'm feeling my usual pms symptoms. And it just wont come, it's taking a huge toll on my body. I'm a lot more tired than I usually am. And I barely have the energy to do anything. I know someone will ask this - no I am not pregnant. I have not been sexually active, at all. I was on the pill to help control my symptoms, as my pms symptoms got out of hand and contributed to terrible mental health. I quit taking it as I found it was no longer helpful, and I was placed on antidepressants.
So, I'm a little confused. Could this be due to my body getting back to producing natural hormones after the pill? Or changes in my lifestyle? The only thing that's changed is probably my antidepressants. I cycled thru a few before I found something that helped. I've been on my current one for almost 2 months now.
Any advice would be helpful! I have never had a late or missed period. My regular cycle has always been perfectly 25 days and birth control cycle was 28 days as usual.
