I decided to take an opk test a couple days ago and then one again today because I’ve been feeling majorly off and I didn’t have a pregnancy tests on hand. 
Is it possible for lh test to detect some hcg? Should I take go grab a pregnancy test?

Could be both. LH has very similar chemical structure to HCG so lh strips confuse HCG for LH. Pregnancy test is more specific it does not confuse LH to HCG. LH can fluctuate and rise before period. I have tested way darker than control line with LH strip than FRER in early days of 4rth week.

Opks mean nothing after ovulation. They don’t confirm ovulation or dpo.

This is how mine looked when i took it and i was actually pregnant. The top is a pregnancy test and the bottom is a Opk , but it should NOT be used instead of a pregnancy test.

they by no means predict pregnancy- but both times I’ve been pregnant I did get positive opks right before positive pregnancy tests.

Sometimes the LH strips will confuse HCG with LH but not always. Also, its normal to have a small spike a couple days before period for a lot of women.
My LH strips did happen to pick up my HCG 2 days before i got my BFP. Here is my chart to see an example (orange line is LH)

It's possible for opks to be positive when pregnant (& before a period) but yours are negative & mean nothing.
