breakup?

my boyfriend and i broke up a couple days ago and it’s been HARD. i see this man almost daily and we haven’t really gone a day without each other so it’s been so odd too. i’m just really confused because of how he’s acting. like he’ll say we’re done like over text and then we’re we’re face to face it’s like nothing has changed. i spent the night at this apartment the other night and he was holding me so tightly and he started crying and i asked if he was okay and he’s like no not really and i asked what’s wrong and he’s like i just feel like an asshole for doing this. and then took me on a date later that day and is still there for me and helping me find a new apartment before my lease is up, still looks at me with awe. he’s a cancer man if that helps. i just want my man back and i don’t know what to do. he has his walls up SO high.
