Boric acid and sex?

Does anyone have personal experience from this. All the answers online differ, if I insert boric acid evernight like my gyno recommended for reoccurring bv how soon can I have sex after ? I don’t want to irritate his Penis if that’s possible. If I’m doing them every night and the next day before bed or in the evening I have sex or during that next day is that safe for both of us?
